I'm currently sitting at my computer, safely seated in t-shirt, shorts and absolutely no shoes.
Why no shoes? Well I'll tell you. It is basically because at the moment my right heel is being rubbed raw, and my left heel is about twice its usual size. Yes, I'm breaking in a new pair of shoes.
It has been a similar story right the way through my life, right back to the time when my Mum used to have to take me into every shoe shop in a town to get my school shoes. Back then things weren't helped by my especially wide feet, now it seems I'm just about in line with the population at large.
Yep, it is the time when I hobble around as quietly as possible, trying not to look like an idiot on the street and at the same time sending sales of Elastoplast soaring as I continue to whack meaty fabric plasters on my heels.
So here's a tip for a young entrepreneur. Make shoes that don't hurt when they're new - you'll make yourself a real mint. You'll be laughing all the way to the bank, while the rest of us will be glad that we don't have to limp there.
Have a good week!
